I am a Senior at California State University, Sacramento. I am finishing my Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Journalism with a minor in Communication Studies. My goal is to become a working broadcast journalist, but share my work on multiple platforms like the internet and social media. Special Projects Coordinator- New Student Orientation

California State University, Sacramento

September 2014 – Present 

Assist with the coordination of the New Student Planner, including cover design, calendar events, and advertising layouts. Design Orientation Leader recruitment materials in various formats such as videos and printed materials. Develop and edit Orientation videos, slide shows, and other prromotional materials. Function as a office staff member, providing customer service to students and other individuals via phone, email or in person contact. Process Orientation reservations and confirmations and update advising materials as needed.

January 2014 – May 2014 

Wrote and photographed for the news section of a 30,000 bi-monthly circulation student paper. Contributed 2 stories on average per issue. Attended JACC Conference training in April 2014.

 

Front Desk Assistant- Counseling Department

Palomar College

October 2012 – May 2014 

I assisted with scheduling appointments for students on the SARS grid. I refered students and provided information regarding Counseling Services and other campus resources available. I provided support for general, career, and transfer counseling. I worked in a high volume department, and worked as a liaison between counselors and students. I provided assistance in the Transfer and Career Center. I have extensive knowledge of the counseling classes, College Success Skills and Career Search.

About Me

I am a native San Diegan, currently attending California State University, Sacramento, completing my bachelor’s degree in journalism. During the course of my studies I have been involved as both a photographer and reporter for The Telescope Newspaper at Palomar College, as well as with The State Hornet this Fall. I am currently the Vice President of the CSU, Sacramento student chapter, and hope to persue a career in broadcast journalism in the near future.
